And I'm the heart and soul behind Sangha—a word that holds profound personal significance for me. In Sanskrit, "Sangha" means "community," a concept that has shaped my journey in countless ways. The unwavering support and nurturing I received from my own community has carried me through many of life's challenges, including a rigorous Master's program in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, ultimately leading to the creation of Sangha.
In today's fast-paced, often isolating world, many of us find ourselves in a state of crisis due to the absence of genuine community connections. We are inherently communal creatures, not designed to tackle life's challenges alone. The pressures and isolation of modern society can make self-care a daunting task. I've come to believe that health, a deeply personal and sometimes vulnerable aspect of our lives, flourishes in the embrace of a supportive community.
During my four years of specialized training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, I honed my skills not only in addressing physical ailments but also in tending to emotional well-being. I hold steadfast to the belief that healing begins with the patient-practitioner relationship, and I aspire to be a vital pillar in my patients' communities.
My passion extends beyond mere healing; it's about empowering individuals to feel inspired about their health. Chinese medicine, with its holistic approach that treats the whole person rather than isolated symptoms, is a perfect fit for this mission. My practice spans a wide spectrum of health issues, including arthritis, pain, and autoimmune disorders to hormonal imbalances, metabolic disorders, and mental health conditions.
I am acutely aware that the foundation for healing rests upon deep listening, understanding, and asking the right questions. I am particularly dedicated to supporting marginalized groups often neglected by the healthcare industry, including women, LGBTQ individuals, people of color, and those with limited resources. To me, health transcends the mere absence of disease—it encompasses the optimization of mind, body, and spirit.
At Sangha, I offer more than acupuncture and herbal medicine; I bring expertise in adjunctive therapies such as moxibustion, tui na, acupressure, cupping, auriculotherapy, and tailored dietary and lifestyle recommendations. My promise to you is to provide a safe, inclusive space where you can be truly seen, heard, and understood. It is from this foundation that genuine healing begins.
